The Ravens to go to the Superbowl Sunday?

Teams to go to the Superbowl Sunday are still quite a mystery but it doesn’t mean you should lay your handicapping skills to rest. The former Baltimore Raves coach Brian Billick said that the Ravens will go to the Superbowl Sunday, saying that the chances of them being there is very good when he appeared on “The Norris and Davis” on 105.7 The Fan on Tuesday to talk about the chances of Baltimore making it to the Superbowl in Indianapolis next month.

Billick also predicst that the Ravens will play the Green Bay Packers for the title.
“We’re making a,” Billick said, realizing he said “we” he rephrased his sentence. “The Ravens are making a championship run and they are in the think of it. I’ve got the Ravens going to the Super Bowl. They’re going to beat Houston. I think they can go in and beat New England. I want Ray Lewis on that football field.”

He also told the hosts Ed Norris and Steve Davis that quarterback Joe Flacco will be the largest key to beating New England. But Billick, who coached the Ravens to a title in 2000, believes Flacco won’t have to do it all himself.

“Normally, when you size up the playoff pool, it’s what? Rank the quarterbacks,” Billick said. “You rank the quarterbacks, you rank the team. But there’s an interesting dichotomy. In the AFC, obviously at the top of the pyramid is Tom Brady. I don’t think anybody would argue that and no disrespect to Joe Flacco, but no one is going to pick Joe Flacco over Tom Brady. But there’s no question the Baltimore Ravens are a more complete team.”

Billick also belives All-Pro quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the defending champs will advance from the NFC.

“Put my hand to the fire, yeah, I think it’s going to be Green Bay in the Super Bowl,” said Billick, a TV analyst for FOX and NFL Network. “We have kind of forgotten how well Aaron Rodgers has played because he has been off the map for a while. … New Orleans is certainly capable of going in and beating Green Bay. We’ve seen that. They can run the ball. But at the end of the day, I just think the Green Bay Packers have the pedigree, the confidence and you got to go through Lambeau Field, so I think it’s Green Bay and Baltimore in the Super Bowl.”
